Is this week over yet? Work has been one crucial meeting after another, my husband is working nights and my baby is sick. I’m keeping her home tomorrow because my coworker has an out of town friend who can come help while I work upstairs. I wish I had family nearby who could come snuggle her all day. Or an actual babysitter. We need to work on that.
Pros of working from home:
- 2 extra hours of sleep (pending the baby alarm)
- unlimited food
- or music
- no traffic!!
Cons of working from home:
- no lunchtime Barre class (well, Pro, I save 15$)
- unlimited food
- no Whole Foods next door to supplement unlimited food
- no people
The poor baby spent all last night coughing and waking herself up, and the monitor was so startling that I went and slept in her room. On the floor. I was so tired I could have slept on a pile of rocks.
So…I was watching the B-list Republican debate…who the heck was that 4th guy?! Where did he come from?? Isn’t it a little late in the game? How many candidates can we possibly have in this election? Are we going for a GBOWR? And how, on planet earth, are you expecting to win? What’s your plan, B-list candidate #4? But seriously, who was that?
We’re going to the Super Bowl!!!! And since no team I actually care about is going, we’re rooting for Denver. I have to go with the brother of my favorite QB. (Who happens to have more superbowl rings, sorry Peyton). I wanted to wear my Eli Manning jersey but John said no, so instead I’m buying this:
I made sloppy joe’s this week and they were really, really good. I had forgotten about sloppy joe’s, even though they were a childhood favorite. I used a Thug Kitchen recipe out of my new cookbook, brought some Udi’s whole wheat buns to work, and it made a really satisfying lunch. I’ve fallen off a rock wall and broken my ankle. I’ve run a long race with plantar fasciitis. I had a baby. But I’m pretty sure this hangnail in my pointer finger will be the end of me. Why do hangnails hurt so bad?
My Thursday Thoughts this week are a mess. I’m so tired. I had big plans tonight to workout after the baby went to bed and then watch the new episode of Younger. But, I’m so tired.
I did workout though. I did a 45 minute Suzanne Bowen Fitness Barre Fire class with 5 pound weights. It called for 4 pounds or less, but the 5’s were the only set I had downstairs, and I was too lazy to go upstairs and get my 3’s. Have you ever done that? Done an intense workout but were too lazy/tired to do something extremely easy? It was obviously more exhausting using 5’s, and now my arms are on fire.
I just subscribed to Suzanne Bowen’s Barre streaming workouts. It’s only 10$ a month and her workouts are really tough but her personality is super relaxed. I would recommend it to anyone who loves barre and either doesn’t want to pay a criminal amount of money for each class or doesn’t have time to go. I’m both.
