Things to be Thankful

Over the past year I’ve made a conscious effort to refocus life on the good, the things I’m passionate about, special moments with my family and friends and, always, the bigger picture. One of the best things I ever did was make that same conscious effort–back in 2012 specifically–to fill my world with happy, positive people that helped me grow, instead of the stifling negative relationships of my past. Halloween 2016

The weeks leading up to Halloween are my favorite weeks of the year. Even when I fail to carve (or buy) pumpkins, my costume is a printed off of the office computer 10 minutes before I leave work, and it’s 80 degrees outside, there’s just something in the air, an excitement, a season change, a spookiness that only exists in late October. MDW in DC

Over the holiday weekend, my husband, the baby and I traveled to the set of Scandal for a DC getaway and a baby shower in Bethesda. Sadly, there were no Jake sightings and the only president around was Obama, but we did see this car in our hotel valet. Fact meet fiction. This can’t just be a coincidence.
