Mid-week Motivation: Burgers & Barre

John is working swing shift. My least favorite shift. During swings, the only time we overlap (when I’m not sleeping) is Saturday and Sunday morning. So every night is a balancing act while I try to watch the baby, make dinner, feed the baby and feed myself. Chicago has been my favorite city since a five week high school journalism program at Northwestern University (where I took my first, terrifying 80$ cab ride from the airport to Evanston by myself). While journalism didn’t stick, the magical feeling of freedom and excitement from the city did, and I’ve been back almost every year. Chicago is different from San Francisco or New York or Atlanta, it has this deep seeded Midwest attitude that makes it seem a lot smaller, more attainable. Mid-week Motivation: Enchiladas & Glossy Box

There are (so many) days I just want to crawl onto the couch, watch Netflix and order pizza when I get home. So many. Especially if I’m on a good episode of my new favorite show, Parks and Recreation. How did I not know about this show? But there’s no Netflix after work. I have a husband to feed and a baby to chase.
